Hola, I’m Rosie.
How did I get here?
I was the youngest in my family, which meant I grew up with a bit more freedom than my siblings. That freedom quickly translated into messy doodles all over the walls of our house (something my sister still teases me about). If you looked anywhere below one metre high, chances are you’d find my little scribbles scattered around.
Those doodles grew with me. At school I fell in love with art classes, they were the highlight of my week. My family encouraged me too, filling my hands with brushes, paints and canvases, and letting me experiment endlessly.
Design came next, and I threw myself into studying it at uni and building a career.
Then I took a leap and moved to Australia. Leaving Chile meant stepping into the unknown — new language, new culture, and a whole new world. It was challenging, but it gave me space to breathe, to reflect, and to see my creativity in a new light. The landscapes, the colours, the slower pace of life — they opened me up in ways I hadn’t expected and pushed me to return to what lights me up: illustration.
Now, through Holachiolin, I’m letting that part of me lead again. What began as scribbles on walls has turned into illustrations, prints, and playful pieces that carry the same joy, freedom, and sense of discovery I felt as a kid, now enriched by the journey I’ve taken across continents.
